Diocesan FACTS Grant & Aid Tuition Assistance

Need-based tuition assistance may be available to qualifying St. John Paul II Academy students. Application for financial tuition assistance can be made online using the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Service. The application is user-friendly and the average time spent applying is 22 minutes. If you need help with online computer access, please contact the school office. There is a $45 application fee that is paid by the applicant. One application covers students in multiple schools.

Submission of an application to the FACTS Tuition Aid processing center and the school's receipt of the Review is mandatory before any student is considered for receipt of tuition assistance.
After submission of ALL required supporting documents, the FACTS Aid review can take 1-2 weeks. Supporting documents may be scanned and e-mailed in the portal.

The application process for Cycle I begins on January 26, 2026. All applications must be submitted to FACTS no later than April 24, 2026, to be eligible for tuition assistance for Cycle I.

Cycle II begins May 4, 2026, and ends June 26, 2026. Applications must be completed and processed by FACTS by June 26th to be considered for Cycle II.

Families who qualify are usually notified near the end of May, but this may be subject to change.

Families who receive any kind of tuition assistance must reapply each year. Please note FACTS application are not accepted via Fax. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school office at (361) 855-5744.

Need-Based Tuition Assistance

At St. John Paul II Academy, we believe that a Catholic education should be accessible to families who desire it. Through the generosity of our donors, benefactors, and community partners, we are blessed to offer need-based tuition assistance each year to qualifying families, helping make a St. John Paul II Academy education more affordable.

Need-based tuition assistance applies to tuition only and does not cover registration fees, technology fees, or other school-related fees.

During the annual Texas Education for All (TEFA) application period, families seeking financial assistance are strongly encouraged to apply for TEFA funding. If a family is awarded TEFA funds, the amount of need-based tuition assistance provided by St. John Paul II Academy may be adjusted or reduced so that additional tuition assistance can be made available to other qualifying families. Any remaining tuition balance after TEFA funds have been applied to the published tuition rate may be considered for additional need-based tuition assistance.

For families who qualify, need-based tuition assistance is applied at the beginning of the school year or upon receipt and approval of a completed application. Tuition assistance is not awarded retroactively.

The remaining tuition balance, which is the family's financial responsibility, will be divided according to the selected tuition payment plan. Families are expected to keep tuition accounts current throughout the school year. Failure to remain current on tuition payments may result in the forfeiture of the tuition assistance award.

Because financial assistance funds are limited, families are encouraged to submit all required financial aid applications as early as possible. Awards are made based on eligibility and the availability of funds, and assistance cannot be applied retroactively.

Other Family Information

TEFA Funds

All families may choose to apply for TEFA funding.
TEFA recipients are charged the same tuition and fees as non-TEFA students.
TEFA funds may be applied to eligible fees, tuition, and other eligible expenses as permitted by the state program.
TEFA funds are applied to the published tuition rate after any qualifying discounts are deducted (if applicable) and before any school-provided need-based tuition assistance may be considered.
Parents are responsible for any tuition and fees not covered by TEFA funds.
