Just a reminder that Freshman Retreat is this weekend! Please keep the freshman and all of the students and staff in your prayers! 

Freshman Parents here are a few reminders:

Saturday: Check-in is at 8:30am on Saturday and check-out is at 9:30pm that night. Please bring the money and snack to share to check-in and the signed permission slip (if you haven't already turned that in)

Sunday: Check-in is around 8:45am so that we can start at 9am and we will end after Mass at 12:30pm. As a reminder you are invited to the special parent session (9am - 11am) and the closing Mass (11am-12:30pm), so please see the previous emails for more information about that.

Andrew Dinner

The Diocese of Corpus Christi’s hosted a dinner for those seeking to learn more about the priesthood.  Bishop Mulvey, various pastors, 12 current students and 2 alumni from St. JPII attended.  The wonderful event was organized by Bob Cummings with the Vocations Office.

Alumni Making a Difference

Abigail Trevino (Founder and Executive Director), Alexis Deeb (Vice President  and Grant Writer), Kaitlin Deeb (Social Media Manager) are part of a non-profit organization to help bring books and hope to the community.  The Traveling Library has been formed to increase access to books for the youth of our community.  Below is an article from The Bend, Oct 21' with founders Abigail and Rachel Trevino pictured.  In this link you will you can meet the team, including our alumni.

The 6th Annual Thanksgiving Parent Luncheon on Thursday, November 18th.

Parents would have lunch with their students at the student's normal lunch time.  Parents can RSVP to [email protected]. by November 12th.

Meal cost $8.00 students and $9.00 parents

LIVE NATIVITY

John Paul’s Live Nativity will be held November 28, 29 & 30th.  We need everyone’s help to make this a success!

Students have been sent a google signup for their participation.  Please encourage your student to sign up!  Students earn solidarity hours by participating.

Parents this is one of the last opportunities to earn your service hours.  Sign up before all shifts are full!  Don’t have time to participate in person?   Donations to help with the cookies and hot chocolate as well as feed our students who are participating is needed.  Thank you!

Congratulations to Seniors Chance Dittman and Emma Ybarra awarded scholarships for TAMUCC after attending the Extravaganza over the weekend.

Blood Drive last week for former student Laura Caballero was a huge success. The goal is 25 units and we collected 35 units.
