Good Afternoon Seniors and Juniors

Monday October 25th FAFSA evening

6:30 in the cafetorium

Senior parents/students come fill out your Free Federal Financial Aid documents. These are required documents for financial aid with any university. 

We will have a college financial representative here to help you with the FAFSA form online

 

Tuesday October 26th

ALL Juniors will take the PSAT. All Juniors need to arrive at 8am on Tuesday October 26th even if they do not have a first period in order to begin the PSAT on time. Please bring a calculator if you have one.

 

Thursday October 28th

ALL Seniors will take the SAT. All Seniors need to arrive at 8am on Thursday October 28th even if they do not have a first period to begin the SAT on time. Please bring a calculator if you have one.

 

Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat next week.  Candy and Halloween trinket donations are needed.

From Sister Pat

NHS and Student Council are sponsoring Trunk or Treat for Special Needs Guests on October 27. We would like to invite parents to donate bags of individually wrapped candy or cookies or chip snacks. The event will take place 4:30 to 6:30. Students can bring the donations to room 281 by October 26.  I'm attaching a flyer, but I don't know if you can send the flyer.

 

Triumph Over Kid Cancer Charity

Robyn and Maddie (pictured below) raised over $2,000 for the Triumph over Kid Cancer Charity the night of their Sweet 16.  The mothers stated that “It was such a blessing to see our two girls thinking of others as they have been taught by our families, school and church”.

RAFFLE TICKETS

Fall raffle tickets were handed out this week to students in their Theology class.  Please make sure to check your student’s backpack for your raffle tickets.

All families were given enough tickets to cover your family fundraising obligation for fall.  The deadline to turn ticket stubs and money in is Monday, December 6th.  If you need additional tickets, please call the office.  For any questions on raffle you can contact Veronica Maxwell @ 361-816-9234 or [email protected].

Congratulations to the St. JPII Cheer team as they won Game Day Champions at UCA Camp this summer! For winning the top trophy, they have been invited to participate in the Pregame Performance for the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL on New Year's Day!

Swimming from Annette Du Vall

Our JPII Swim Team had their first meet of the season this last weekend!  The team attended the IWA Angel & CCISD Sprint Meet at the CCISD Natatorium.  The swimmer with the biggest time drop of the meet was Joseph Roberts with a 15.20 second drop in his 100 freestyle!  Our next biggest drop was Rebecca Garcia with 2.86 seconds in her 50 Fly!  Ten of our swimmers competed in brand new events at this meet.  We had six returning swimmers and six new JPII swim team members participate in the meet.  Two of our swimmers were unable to make the meet, but we look forward to having them at our next swim meet.  Our team results are as follows:
