From Librarian, Ms. Lindstrom

Book Fair

The library is hosting its first virtual book fair for both SJPII and BGMPS, through Follett eFairs. The fair will run from Sept. 14th- Sept. 30. The link is available now. School code: MKRK2

Please help the library raise funds to provide both print and eBooks to our students by purchasing a book for students, family members, friends, or from the library's wish list. Feel free to post our fair on your social media sites or pass along to family members who might enjoy purchasing a book for our students or library. All books are delivered to the school.

The library receives 40% of the profit so even if you purchase just 1 book it all adds up to support our library needs.

Access to the library

The library is physically closed, however, you are able to check out books following proper protocol. Many new items have been added, some are eBooks. You must log in using your school google account (Single sign-in) to the digital library catalog to choose a book and place it on hold. Ms. Lindstrom will email you directly to let you know the day and time to pick up your book. You must wear a mask when doing so. To return a book simply drop it in the return bin outside in the breezeway between the library and theology classrooms.

Senior Portraits

Your formal senior pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 23rd starting at 12:30. Strawbridge will have 3 stations: formal yearbook (Mass uniform top with tie), Casual (variety of backgrounds and props), and environmental (outside setting). Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • You must maintain at least 6 feet distance from others on campus and wear a mask at all times. You may take it off for the actual photo.
  • You must have your Mass top with tie for yearbook photo (There are no extra ties to share)
  • Your casual and environmental settings are for you to wear modest casual clothing of your own choosing. You may quickly change in the restrooms outside the library, but need to carry all belongings with you from station to station.
  • You may bring a prop for your own use (not to be shared) such as a football, volleyball, etc for the causal setting. Strawbridge will have basic props (chair, stand, photo frame to hold, etc) and will sanitize any prop used before the next student arrives at the station.
  •  Times are in 10 minute increments to allow for sanitizing the station after a student's picture is taken. Please show up on time, and quickly change, to keep the process flowing safely.
  • You must leave campus, with all of your belongings, immediately after your photos are completed.
  • When signing up, the site refers to a sitting fee. Ignore it. This year Strawbridge is waiving this fee, but it will be in effect starting next year.

Where to go: Drive to the library/theology building. You may park in spaces there or in the BG gym parking lot. However, at BG dismissal time you may need to park elsewhere. Please do not park on the road. The first station you will go to will be the formal yearbook photo, with Mass uniform. If weather permits, this will be outside next to the library. Please wait by/in your car until the student before you has left the station, or your allotted time whichever is later because time is needed for sanitation. After the first station, if needed, you may quickly change in the restrooms by the library. Hair, jewelry, etc should be done ahead of time, so you only need to change outfits quickly to keep the flow of the day running smoothly. With your belongings, proceed to the library for the prop/causal station. From there you will take all your belongings and walk to the quad area for a photo by the Centurion statue. When you are finished please return to your car and leave campus. Areas are subject to change depending on weather.
