Meet Mrs. Ortiz

I am a native of Robstown, Texas where I attended St. Anthony's Catholic School as a child. I have lived in Corpus Christi all of my adult life with my husband of 37 years. I began my education career in 1999 teaching Technology Applications at the middle school level and then became a librarian. At the end of the 2021 school year, I retired from public education and was hired at St. John Paul II the day following my retirement. This is my 25th year as an educator.

I love to read; always have and always will. My passion for reading is something that I hope to pass on to the students I serve. I also volunteer many hours with Teen Bookfest by the Bay to help put together a book festival that brings published authors to our community where young people can meet and interact with them.
